Went to the meet after and ran a few miles here and there. Shout out to Collin for running an amazing mile, also nice job to Landon Parker Connor and Zack for their great 800 preformances today
Thu, 12 May 2016 06:00:00 Wed, May 11, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-11-2016.html
Today was amazing. got to lone peak around 2:30, walked around flexin the Js, ran a 2 mile shakeout with connor towards the canyon, then chilled and watched the first part of the meet. Watched spencer do well in the 400 and was excited for my shot to run later. Warmed up a mile with Austin, Riley and Mike. Then went and got ready, the meet was way ahead of schedule so my race ended up starting pretty early. Wished my boy Tyler some luck then went to the starting line. Was literally not nervous at all, and the weather was perfect. Danced a little bit while a bunch of the guys in my heat did a stride fealt hecka relaxed. Then the gun went off, I lined up in lane 6 so I cut in right off the bat, found andrew and stayed with him for the first two laps. Coming up to the end of the second lap I saw riley, who had got out a little bit ahead of us and I turned to Andrew and said "let's go catch him" so we did and once we got up with him I realized that I was at the front of the second group and that wasn't what I wanted. The lead pack was about 40 yards ahead of me and I still had a lot of energy, so I took a huge risk and hauled to catch up with them. Came across the Mile at 5:10, and my risk paid off, as I was able to stay with them, throughout the second mile I picked everyone off except for one Westlake kid at the front. Shout out to Connor for getting some vids of me and then saying some hecka motivating words to me the 7th lap. Got passed by some people in the last 200 but I was giving everything I had so that didn't get me down. Throughout the race I was constantly thinking that this was my last chance so I didn't want to leave anything to be told and I can sleep well tonight knowing that I gave my all. It was so sweet having my teamates there to cheer for me, they were all so loud, the majority of them were at the beginning of each lap and when I came around I would always have a surge by them because their positive energy was so contaigous. Gibson was cheering at the 200 mark, bill and kinley were at the 300 mark and my boy zack was at the 350 mark, so hearing those guys all race was super fun. My second mile was a 5:14 and I finished with a 10:24. My mom and sisters were able to come watch some of the race too which made me happy because I love them too and they support me more than anyone. When I think back on running track for Lehi, this will always be the race I think about, I was able to make it through a difficult season and peak at the right time. Shout out to all my teamates, I love y'all like family and am truly blessed to have you in my life. Also shoutout to coach for giving me the opportunity to run a region and prove that I could race well. Tyler and Jared get a shout out as well for all the hard work they have put in under difficult circumstances and have been able to push through and get some great times. Yall inspire me.
Wed, 11 May 2016 06:00:00 Tue, May 10, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-10-2016.html
Ran to the castle house and back, then did pre meet. Got a 65 and a 74 lol, I was just staying with the twins, and Austin thought it was mile pace haha. Cooled down to 5, ice bathed, and had a really fun team dinner
Tue, 10 May 2016 06:00:00 Mon, May 09, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-09-2016.html 1.5 mile speed changes Mon, 09 May 2016 06:00:00 Sat, May 07, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-07-2016.html Sat, 07 May 2016 06:00:00 Fri, May 06, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-06-2016.html Fri, 06 May 2016 06:00:00 Thu, May 05, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-05-2016.html Thu, 05 May 2016 06:00:00 Wed, May 04, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-04-2016.html Wed, 04 May 2016 06:00:00 Tue, May 03, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-03-2016.html Four mile warmup today, then did the same speed workout as Connor, splits were 2:33 and 2:34 for the 800s, 71 and 72 for the 400s, and a 32 was my average for the 200s. Drank so much water after I thought I was gonna explode, then cooled down a mile. Went to the creek by the spring with Connor and parker and had our first outdoor ice bath of the year, it was flippin amazing lol lizard out. Tue, 03 May 2016 06:00:00 Mon, May 02, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-02-2016.html Not sure how many miles I wan to do this week, as I won't know if I'm running a region or not until Saturday, ran up to the mct today, took the alternate roa up airport hill today which I had never run, so that was cool, split off from the majority of our group, but somehow caught up to them on the way back, pretty impressive considering I ran 2 more mile than them, last mile was a 5:50 so my average pace for the 8 mile run was just under 7, did three more with the little kids at track practice because why not lol. Mon, 02 May 2016 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 30, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-30-2016.html Got to orem and warmed up a mile. Saw landon qualify for BYU and was super hyped for him. Went to the line for my race and the gun went off, everyone took it out way hard and we came through at like a 65, and then my whole heat dropped, and so I knew I would have to push to get the time I wanted so I Ed out the next two laps, but lost all my energy in doing so and the last lap was hard, I realized that I wasn't gonna get the time I wanted with about 350 meters to go so it was hard to finish the race. Afterwards I was pretty down on life, and I'm sick of setting all of these big goals and falling short every time, it hurts. I wanted to do something meaningful with this track season and I put everything I had into every day that I was working to become better, and it was all just for coming up short at the end, all the hard work meant nothing. So the legacy that I'm leaving behind at Lehi is someone who tried and failed. I wasn't strong enough to handle the challenge, and I'm physically and mentaly wasted beyond my capacity, its been a long hard disappointing season and that is all there is to it. Cooled down a mile with coach and called it a day. On a much happier note I had an AMAZING time at prom with Sami and that was definitely a night I wil remember for a long time, so shoutout to her for making it great. Sat, 30 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Fri, Apr 29, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-29-2016.html Four mile warmup loop with Connor Thom Mike and landon, felt way tired. Pre meet, 70,71, small cool down. Fri, 29 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Thu, Apr 28, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-28-2016.html
Zack from lp came to run with us today so that was sick, hes legit so shoutout to him. I ran down center street and turned around a 2.5 and then did a mile around the soccer field to get 6, iced and ranted afterwards.
Thu, 28 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Wed, Apr 27, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-27-2016.html
Went up to herriman to watch the mile, and while I was waiting for the meet to start I di 7 1 minute one, 1 minute off pickups around the turf and got 2 miles. After that I ran a mile cool down. Watched the mile, and spencer and riley both got under 5 which was cool to see them do for the first time. Did a 2 mile run with them out to the middle of nowhere and back, then ran the 4x400, I led off and then mike, sam, and landon finished for us. we got 3:51 and took second so that was sick. finished up to 6 barefoot on the turf. Shoutout to herriman for being classless, no one gives a freak about your JV team beating half of our JV team.
Wed, 27 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Tue, Apr 26, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-26-2016.html Ran a 3 mile warmup to the cemetery and back, then me and landon did the Mile workout today. 12x400 splits were 73,72,71,72,72,71,72,72,70,71,70,72.on pace to qualify for BYU this weekend so it's gonna be sick, the rain was perfect today and felt great during the workout, bc no wind lol. Cooled down 2 miles to get 8. Gonna run the 400 at the dual meet tomorrow and try to break 1 minute. Tue, 26 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Mon, Apr 25, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-25-2016.html Nice weather today wen out to do a medium recovery run, and everyone was down t go slow today, went up airport drive and stretched at big ts house, ran down to this trail an I had to go to the bathroom so we stopped at Smith's, came back and Connor started acting like he was commentating for an Olympic race, so Ihad to win, kicked hard the last mile to pull away from the pack and my average pace dropped below 8:00 bc of that lol. One mile with the little kids that I coach track to later. Mon, 25 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Sat, Apr 23, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-23-2016.html
Was driving up to highland to run on the canal, but I saw my stake president running so I pulled over and ran with him for two miles, it was fun and we are right, so w had some good talk about my mission, which was really awesome. I went up to 5 after by myself. Im going up to watch some of the races at Davis, so I'll probs finish my miles there

Went up to davis to watch some of the races, ran 2 miles with connor, mike and denver, then later ran a mile with connor and josh, and then 2 more miles even later with connor and spencer, so I ran 10 miles today. But it was in runs of 2-3-2-1-2 miles lol oh well.
Sat, 23 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Fri, Apr 22, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-22-2016.html
Ran a four mile warmup with Nathan Landon and Josh, to the bottom of airport hill. Coach changed our speed workout because our track was being used for a junior high track meet, so we couldnt do 400 repeats lol. So we ended up doing 9x90 seconds up airport hill, with a lap around the grovel each time. We had a nice tailwind and I was hitting just over 400 meters each time so it was solid. Shout out to satchell for balling hard today, and keeping track of time bc everyone elses watches died lol. the workout gave me 4.75. Definitley glad this workout went well, because it is just another step to be able to qualify for BYU next week at Tiger Trials. Ran back to the school and got up to 10.2. It was a good friday, good luck to everyone racing tomorrow.
Fri, 22 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Thu, Apr 21, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-21-2016.html Today was way fun, I think we had the biggest group we have ever ran with at the beginning including coach jamie and megan, so shout out to them for running with us, for like 2 miles at least lol. Ran up past skyridge and by the time we hit three miles there was only 6 of us left lol. We got to the end of center Street, and Connor and Thomas had to turn back, but me nug landon and Josh decided to go up this lit looking trail that we had never ran on and it lived up to the hype for sure. Ran out to 4.5 then turned back, did a quick out and back mile on the Murdock canal trail and then went back the same way we came. Got 10 miles at 7:05 pace for the day. Thu, 21 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Wed, Apr 20, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-20-2016.html Today was hecka rough lol, my legs were tired an the heat was getting to me so it was a slow 7:30 pace for 7 miles up past af Jr and back. Ha some good team roasting afte so that was fun. Wed, 20 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Tue, Apr 19, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-19-2016.html
Well, found out that I didnt make the cut for Davis around lunch time today. But I was only sad for about a minute. and then I thought of how good I could do today, and how well I had prepared myself. So I stayed positive, because like i said before. Dont focus on what you cant do, rather focus on what you CAN do to make yourself the BEST you can be. So I went home and ate a good lunch(pizza rolls lololol) and watched tons of hype videos and hyped myself almost to the point of crying, and I knew that nothing was gonna stop me from doing my very best today because of how I was feeling. Went back to the school and everyone who didnt qualify for davis was pretty negative, so I did my best to motivate everyone but that wasnt working lol. Did a warmup mile on the turf, which ended up being a 6:09, but felt like an 8:00, so I knew even more, that it was gonna be a good race. Ran another warmup mile right before the race, and then got the boys together to do want some, get some, to get everyone excited and it was sooo awesome and definitley got everyone going. Watched the first heat of the mile, and my boy Nathan killed it, out kicking this riverton guy down the stretch to get a season pr of 5:05, so shoutout to him for doing great. Then my heat went to the line. They didnt put us in order, so they just lined everyone up and shot the gun. I wasnt nervous at all before this race and so the first lap. Landon went out hard, but I chose to be a little more conservative and stayed with the pack, but a bunch of people started passing me at the 300 mark so I had had enough of the pack and split off from them and got a 73 first lap. Surged at the begining of the second lap to get closer to landon and passed him going into the 800 mark, 74 second lap. Connor was calling the meet, and it was awesome to hear him call out me and landons name as we were racing, definitley contributed to the great race I had, so shout out to him. Surged again in the third lap, and me and landon really started distancing ourselves from the pack at this point and it was fun. 74 third lap. The fourth lap started and landon did his signature kick at the first 100 and got a 20 meter gap on me, but I just stayed focused and was able to catch him by the 200 mark with a kick of my own, at this point I wanted to win so bad, coming around the last turn neck and neck, he had just barely a little more leg speed than me and so he got me by a second. last lap was a 73. Got a 4:56 "officially", but I had multiple people getting my splits for me, and they all had me at a 4:54 with the splits I specified above. All in all a fantastic race, and I think I will for sure be able to qualify for BYU at tiger trials next week. Elevated my legs and cooled down 2 miles with nathan. Chilled with connor a little bit in the box and then went back down. Shout out to Tyler for breaking 2:20 in the 800 today, that was sick. By the time the two mile came around, my legs were no where near recovered, and I tried to stay with the leaders, but just didnt have it in me because of how fried my legs were from giving it all in the mile. My time in the 2 was 11:15 and if anything it was just good tempo training to help me get faster. Cooled down one last mile to get 8 for the day. Two more shoutouts, first one to spencer for running the mile and getting a 5:08, wish he woulda done distance smh bc he is pretty good at it. Last one goes to this dope quote I heard on Kung fu Panda three, it goes "If you only do what you can do, then you will never be more than you are now" Thats some str8 up wisdom from master shifu right there lol. Lizard Out.
Tue, 19 Apr 2016 06:00:00 Mon, Apr 18, 2016 http://bigace.fastrunningblog.com/blog-04-18-2016.html
Holy cow I was feeling it today, super tired and sore and I hate running in lehi bc it is soooo freaking boring, tried to make the most of it, but the best trails we could find were like .1 miles, and we ended up running up killers and the big dip lol. Very slow day. Came back and did some abs and help motivate Mike to get the all time lehi plank record of 43:01 which was awesome to see history made lol. Not sure if im gonna race tomorrow bc the Davis entries havent been posted, Im hoping I get in but have a gut feeling that it just wont happen.
Mon, 18 Apr 2016 06:00:00
